With our best-practice based multi-project management approach we ensure the cross-project benefits realization and the achievement of the targeted organizational strategy goals. By defining and implementing a program structure and governance adapted to your organization and processes, we organize, manage and support your programs and lead them to success!

Strategic Program Management

Identify opportunities and benefits to achieve the organization's strategic goals through program implementation!

We design your program to align with your business strategy and facilitate the realization of business benefits. We work together on how the program meets the organization's strategy and goals.
Through a program charter, we define the strategic goals and benefits your program should contribute. We ensure that sub-component project management plans align with the program's goals and intended benefits to support achieving the organization's strategic objectives.

As part of the strategic program management ...

  • ... we jointly define/evaluate the business case as the central justification document for your investment decision. Among other things, the BC describes the success criteria to be considered throughout the program and serves as the basis for evaluating the program's success.

  • ... we develop the program charter based on the business case, which defines the scope and purpose of the program and authorizes the program. The program charter expresses the organization's vision, mission, and expected benefits of the program and defines the program-specific objectives following the organization's strategic plan.

  • ... we describe a program roadmap that provides both:
    - a chronological representation of the intended direction of the program in graphical form; and
    - a set of documented success criteria for each of the chronological events.

  • … internal and external influences can significantly affect the success of a program. External influences often come from the overarching organization or even from outside. Through an analysis of the environmental factors, we jointly identify and assess all internal and external influences that need to be considered in managing the program. In this way, we ensure continuous engagement with stakeholders as well as continuous alignment with the strategic goals of the organization.

  • … a carefully defined program risk strategy is essential to the successful implementation of the program roadmap. The strategic alignment of the program roadmap and the objectives it supports with the organizational strategy includes a risk management strategy that ensures effective management of all risks that may cause the program to become inconsistent with the corporate strategy.

Program Life Cycle

Management of all program activities related to program definition, program benefit delivery, and closure.

The program life cycle extends from the definition of the program, through the delivery of services, to the completion of the program. However, unlike projects, which have a similar lifecycle, programs require the coordination and orchestration of many components that go far beyond what is required at the level of a single project.

The specific activities that are performed within the program lifecycle depend on the specific nature of the program and many, many other factors, and will be determined with you as part of the Program Definition.

Our experts accompany and support you throughout the entire program lifecycle in the phases:

  • Definition
  • Delivery
  • Closing

To be successfully implemented and deliver the expected benefits, programs are usually implemented in these three main phases:

  • Program Definition: in the program definition phase, we work with you to develop the program's business case and program charter. Once the program is approved, we work together to create the program roadmap needed to achieve the expected results. The program management plan concludes the definition phase.

  • Program Delivery: During this phase, individual components are initiated, planned, executed, transitioned, and completed while benefits are delivered, transitioned, and sustained. All activities are orchestrated to achieve the intended outcomes of each component in accordance with the program management plan.

  • Program Closure: During program closure, results are transitioned, and the program is formally closed. This phase includes all program activities required to transfer program benefits to the sponsoring organization and close the program in a formal and controlled manner.

Program Benefits Management

We identify, define, maximize and manage program benefits!

Realization of program benefits is an essential component of program outcomes. A benefit monitoring and management structure is established that considers the organization's risk appetite and the strategic value of the program. Each identified program benefit is assigned a probability of risk and a probability of realization.

These probabilities depend on various factors, such as the number of components required to realize the benefit and the organization's ability to manage the changes associated with the program.

To ensure the realization of your intended program benefits, our experts will support you in the following steps:

  • Benefits Identification

  • Benefits Analysis and Planning

  • Benefits Delivery

  • Benefits Transition

  • Benefits Sustainment

Program Stakeholder Management

We understand the needs and manage the expectations of stakeholders to ensure their support. We proactively manage communication to channel and mitigate any resistance.

With the complexity of program environments often comes ambiguity and uncertainty among stakeholders. Our experts analyze both: the expectations of the stakeholders and the impact the program has on them. This enables them to ensure active and successful expectation management.
In addition to the communication aspect, stakeholder engagement also includes negotiating goals and agreeing on expected benefits, as well as providing resources and ongoing support during the program.

To realize a successful and continuous stakeholder management, our experts actively support you in the following areas:

  • Program Stakeholder Identification
  • Program Stakeholder Analysis
  • Program Stakeholder Engagement Planning
  • Program Stakeholder Engagement
  • Program Stakeholder Communications

Program Governance

We work with you to define the processes and methods to oversee program and support decision making on applicable policies and procedures throughout the life of the program.

Program governance encompasses the framework, functions, and processes by which a program is monitored, managed, and supported to achieve the strategic and operational goals of the organization. Program governance focuses on achieving program benefits by establishing systems and methods by which a program and its strategy are defined, approved, monitored, and supported by the sponsoring organization. A framework tailored to your needs provides practices for effective decision-making and ensures appropriate and proper management of their program.

Our experts support them in executing the program within the defined framework without neglecting day-to-day program activities.

Effective program governance is particularly important in highly complex or uncertain environments when rapid response to results and information is required. Program governance enables facilitating program alignment with the vision and organizational strategy, as well as regular reconciliation between program requirements and current organizational capabilities.

We help you implement effective program governance that ensures the success of your program by providing ...

  • ... ensures compliance with reporting and control processes required to support program alignment.
  • ... supports the approval, initiation, and funding of the program.
  • ...ensures clear agreements regarding the sponsoring organization's oversight of the program, but also establishes the framework of autonomy within which the program will pursue its goals.
  • ...defines clear expectations for the interaction of program stakeholders, facilitating their engagement.

... creates an environment for communicating and managing risks and uncertainties

... provides a framework that is consistent with portfolio and governance policies and processes....

... provides the process for regular reviews of program health and progress, such as reviews or health checks

... provides the framework for selecting, approving, and enabling the implementation of program components, including projects, ancillary programs, and other program activities.

We look forward to supporting you in your programme challenge.
